Wisconsin Alpha Delta Kappa Newsletter March 2023

Please Note: The published version of this newsletter may be found here.

Dear Wisconsin A𝚫K Sisters,

Even if there is still snow on the ground in March, we know that spring is coming! We have so many exciting events to look forward to as sisters of A∆K! I hope to see many of you soon at our Wisconsin State Conference on April 28-29. Your Zeta sisters in Kenosha can’t wait to welcome you!

Another A∆K S/P/N president recently shared the following poem in her newsletter. The poem puts into words the relationship we have with our A∆K sisters~

Sisterhood

Sisterhood is many things.
It’s a warm smile on a cold and rainy day, a friendly hug,
a cheerful hello...
It’s all that a good and lasting friendship is, only better.
It’s treasured.
It’s sacred.
It’s knowing that there will always be someone there for you.
It’s dreams shared, and goals achieved.
It’s counting on others and being counted on.
It is real.

I am so grateful to be part of a wonderful organization filled with such amazing women as each of you! Thank you for everything you do for students, each other, and your community!

With A𝚫K Sisterhood, Theresa

2023 Barbara Beetow Memorial Grant

Congratulations to all of the recipients of the 2023 Barbara Beetow Memorial Grant! A complete list of recipients is attached to this newsletter. The state executive board approved each grant at the state board meeting on January 21. Let’s give a special thank you to sustaining members Beverly Lee and Elsie Goulding, co-trustees of the AΔK Barbara Beetow Grant Fund. They dedicate their time and expertise to make sure each chapter is able to present a Beetow Grant to a well deserving 501(c)(3) charitable organization in their community. Thank you for all you do, Bev and Elsie!

The 2023 AΔK Ernella Hunziker Grant
Applications for the $400 AΔK Ernella Hunziker Grant are now due. Thank you for all of the applications that have been received.

Wisconsin AΔK State Conference, April 28-29
Our Wisconsin A∆K State Conference is just around the corner! I have attached the registration form with this newsletter. Each chapter should send one conference registration form with one check written out to Wisconsin Alpha Delta Kappa. Please mail the form and check to our state treasurer, Marlea Steiner, at 6430 Lake Rd, Blanchardville, WI 53516.  Registrations are due March 24. WI Zeta has been hard at work planning a fun, educational, and worthwhile conference for our AΔK sisters from around the state. We are looking forward to welcoming you to Kenosha soon!
